What is an End of Life Doula?
An End of Life Doula offers emotional, spiritual, and practical support for people and families as life nears its end.
How is this different from palliative or hospice care?
Hospitals/Hospice and palliative teams provide medical care. A doula provides non-medical support, listening, comfort, guidance, and presence.
What’s the difference between hospice and hospital care?
Hospital care focuses on treating illness and extending life. Hospice care focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life when treatment is no longer the goal.
Who do you support?
Anyone facing a life-limiting illness, and their loved ones.
What kind of help can you give?
I can sit with you, listen, talk through wishes, help with memory or legacy projects, support rituals, and be there during final moments.
Do you work with all beliefs?
Yes. I respect all cultures, faiths, and personal values.
When should I reach out?
Anytime — whether at diagnosis, during illness, or near the end.
Do you support people choosing Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD)?
Yes. I can provide compassionate, non-judgmental support for individuals and families during this process.
What does it cost?
My fee is $70 per hour. If finances are difficult, I offer my support free of charge. The first connection is complimentary.
