Photography

I am interested in our human stories  I believe that when we share our stories we find courage, strength and joy that helps us live more meaningful lives.

I photograph the more challenging chapters of life, the newly diagnosed terminally ill, end of life care and goodbyes (memorial services and funerals). Providing families with special memories at the end of life, portraying the love and kindness that can be experienced at this difficult time. Memories that heal.

I also photograph pets at the end of their lives. Our pets hold a special piece of our hearts.

I have had extensive involvement with families undergoing traumatic and stressful times in their lives through my work as a paediatric intensive care nurse, as palliative care community volunteer and in my role as a Heartfelt photographer.

Services also include photography for people not in palliative care that are terminally ill. These services can be provided in hospitals, residential aged care facilities or at home.

I am always compassionate and respectful in my photographic work and approach each situation with the sensitivity it deserves.

Why do you offer these services?

I believe that these stories help in the process of grieving by reminding us of a life well lived and having something tangible to cherish and share with loved ones now and with generations to come.

What services do you offer?

I photograph challenging times in life usually around dying and death.
It may be at the beginning of a terminal cancer diagnoses, this is an opportunity to have family photos before starting treatment.
During the caring of a loved one either in the home, residential aged care facility or the hospital/hospice.
At a final goodbye however that is celebrated. Funeral, memorial or ashes scattering.

What is your style of photography?

I provide sensitive coverage in a  documentary style. I can take requested photographs of family members, it can be a rare opportunity for families to really be together. I watch for the moments of love, kindness and beauty that unfold during the session. Even a photograph of hands can be a beautiful way to capture love
